UMKC School of Education

Project Description

The University of Missouri Kansas City School of Education Learning Commons consisted of an interior renovation including the space planning with input from the various departments, furniture and finish selection. The goal was to help create a variety of areas for the students to experience different modes of learning.

Spaces include a 4,700-sf multi-function space, including areas of use for the computer lab, group and private study rooms, staff workstations, a break room, as well as a secure entrance for the commons. By combining both new and existing furniture pieces, A3G was able to put the focus on furniture that would greatly increase the function of the space for both students and staff. Durable finishes were also key to create a space that not only looks great but will function for years to come.
