Project Description
Located on a prominent corner lot in Liberty, Missouri, 337 N. Water Street is a late nineteenth-century Queen Anne residence that remains one of the few homes in the neighborhood to retain its original character. The structure features a complex hip-and-gable roof with steep valleys, decorative wood tracery with imbricated shingles, and a projecting bracketed bay window. Narrow double-hung windows with ornamental surrounds and a central chimney further define its historic character.
Over time, deterioration and alterations—most notably the loss of the original front porch—diminished its presence. Capstone Homes, LLC owner Ken Personett led a careful restoration to stabilize the structure and revive its defining features. A historic photograph provided key documentation to accurately reconstruct the porch, returning balance and architectural integrity to the home while preserving its place in Liberty’s history.
